We extend our sincere appreciation to the President of the Yoruba community in Uppsala, Sweden, Mr Adeola Omotayo Aderounmu, for the warm hospitality, kindness, and the welcoming atmosphere that made us feel completely at home.
Moments like this continue to strengthen the bond between Yoruba communities across different countries and remind us that though we may be far from home, our culture continues to unite us.
We believe it is important for Yoruba associations across the Nordic region to build stronger relationships, share ideas, support one another, and collaborate where possible to keep our culture vibrant and thriving here in Europe.
Our delegation returned safely to Finland on the morning of Sunday, 24th May 2026, grateful for the experience, the hospitality, and the meaningful connections made.
AYDF remains committed to preserving our heritage, building bridges across communities, and fostering unity among Yoruba people in the diaspora.
